Serialize and deserialize a trie

Design and implement serialize and deserialize for a dictionary trie, so that the trie can be written to a string and rebuilt exactly, including which nodes mark the end of a word. Choose a format, explain how it handles arbitrary characters, and give the time and size of both directions.
