Make sure every cluster job completes

A company runs many jobs on a high-performance cluster and needs a service that makes sure every one of them completes. You get two functions (for example, one that starts a job and one that reports its status) with no code. Clarify what they do, then design how jobs are tracked, retried when they fail, and how people are notified. Much of the round is asking good questions.
